Waimea Estate
Waimea Estate founders, Trevor and Robyn Bolitho planted their first vines in 1993 on the stony alluvial Waimea Plains in the beautiful Nelson region.
They now own 140 ha of vineyards. The winery is renowned for its aromatic wines and accumulated right from the start a great number of awards, amounting to over 150 gold medals and 27 trophies over the years. In 1997 the very first wine, Waimea Sauvignon Blanc 1997, received the trophy for 'Best Sauvignon Blanc' at the Winestate Australasian Wine Awards.
Reflecting Nelson’s warm maritime climate with cool coastal breezes, Waimea wines are approachable with a refined acid profile – and a history of winning trophies in NZ and abroad.
Waimea Estate is now part of the Sapour Makers & Growers Group.
